White Bed-Sheets

She was 10 just like all her friends.
And at 10 they all dreamed of being married.
She was the first lucky one, because at 10,
She had her first period meaning she could marry.

The wedding has amazing.
She had a huge white dress and a bouquet of flowers.
Everybody was happy and singing.
It had been her dream.

The bed-sheets were also white.
And she kicked and screamed,
Hoping that she could keep those sheets white,
Instead of covered with her blood.

She kept kicking for 2 years,
Fighting of her husband every time they slept in that bed,
The one with the white sheets,
That looked like her wedding dress.

She was 12 when she was saved.
Had she not been, another 3 years for fighting would have been waiting her,
Before she could try to divorce her husband,
He was lying on those white bed-sheets.

Just another girl who married at 10,
Having dreamed of the white wedding dress,
But hadn't known about the white bed-sheets.
They don't get a childhood.
